Friday, Oct. 23 is the deadline for eligible Texas voters to apply for a mail ballot for the Nov. 3 general election. State election officials specify that the application must be received by the early-voting clerk—not merely postmarked—by that date. Texas allows eligible voters, including those 65 or older, voters with a qualifying disability, people confined in jail who meet state criteria, and voters expecting to be away from their county during the voting period and Election Day, to apply. Check eligibility and delivery instructions with your county clerk.
